Former Education Minister Obiageli Ezekwesili condemned the National Assembly for failing to properly investigate allegations of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
She regrets Nigerians for the Senate’s refusal to conduct an independent investigation into the matter.
The former MP responded to an economist’s report, describing the Nigerian political environment as a place of hatred for women while sharing her frustration.
Ezekwesili responded to the post,This is @theecominist in another post on @Senator_Akpabio @Ngrsenate for Nigeria and Nigerians whose rude refusal provides opportunities for the Nigerian Senate special committee to provide independent investigations and open/transparent public hearings.
“No one wants another Kangaroo injustice process, like they “investigated” against Senator Natasha akpoti-uduaghan @natashaakpoti @natashaakpoti and his so-called “Senate Ethics Committee, Code of Conduct and Public Petition Committee” and public petitions, when she was submitted to the polluted committee after a heated debate between her and the arrangement of dispatch parties.
“The committee recommends a six-month moratorium and other serious punishments that violate the Constitution but are approved by the Senate.
“The Senate and Senate presidents have not reversed this petition that is illegal and focused on sexual harassment, but have started a smear campaign against Senator @natashaakpoti.
“They are currently bribing her voters who are co-conspiring to execute a fake recall that largely rejected their proposal for dirty Lucre.
“We are a bunch of national evacuators who are “legislators”. Their actions are impunity because they have caused pain to our democracy.
“Well, now is the time for all reasonable citizens to stand on them until they completely destroy everything left in Nigeria.. ”
