TMZ learned that New York City officials are taking quick action to locate and assist a man who ate dead rats on the Bronx sidewalk, worried about his health.
A City Hall spokesman confirmed that officials are coordinating with the New York City Health Department to track unidentified men after a disturbing video surfaced on social media.
Video captured by witnesses on Saturday showed the man biting a rodent while sitting on the sidewalk. As the “disturbing bill” unfolds, the filming will gasp in shock.
Kathleen Corradi, director of rodent mitigation measures in New York City, issued a warning about potential health risks associated with rats, highlighting that they can carry harmful pathogens and exogenous agents – pests that can cause disease and skin infestations.
Corradi further advises the public to avoid direct contact with rats, urine and feces and to use protective equipment when dealing with dead rodents.
With these serious health risks in mind, municipal officials are eager to find and provide the necessary assistance to men. Authorities hope to intervene before any underlying disease develops.
