The body of a newborn baby was found in a bag outside a church in West Notting Hill, London.
Metropolitan police urgently called on their mother to stand up for their own welfare.
Forces said police and ambulances were called to the end of Talbot Road in Powis Gardens at 12.46 pm on Tuesday, March 25, but the baby was declared DE@D at the scene.
The gender and exact age of the child have not been established.
Principal Owen Renowden called it “an extremely sad and shocking thing.”
He said: “This survey is in an early stage and our direct priority is to find the mother of the baby, which we think may have been recently born.
“If you are a mother of a baby and are reading this, stand up.
“You have to be very scared, but please let us help – we are really worried about you, it’s crucial that you get medical assistance and support. You can walk into any hospital or police station.”
