Niger State Governor Mohammed Bago directed security agents to arrest and treat anyone who used a knife and a stick as an armed robber.
Naija News The announcement coincides with the governor’s curfew that crossed Mina on Tuesday, the report said.
Additionally, Bago issued a directive at a security meeting that anyone with braids should be arrested.
The measure is part of an effort to curb insecurity in the state capital, he said.
Governor Bago further promised to deploy the full force of his government with the power of those responsible for permanent insecurity in the state.
He said “Anyone found possessing any weapon, including knives and sticks, should be considered an armed robber, and if killed, the parent must pay for the bullet before releasing the body. Anyone who retains braided hair should be arrested and shaved.”
Meanwhile, Governor Bago also directed the heads of districts, villages and wards to ensure proper domain name visitor records. He warned that any house with suspected criminals or drug cartels would be demolished.
He stressed that the state government is committed to taking decisive action to end the violence and restore security to the city.
