Gabriel Dewan, Speaker of the Plateau State Capitol, condemned the call for more nations in the country.
Naija News The House Constitutional Review Committee is headed by the Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kaludisclosed during the plenary session, the committee received proposals to create 31 new states.
A plateau spokesman said in an interview with Arise News on Thursday that the country is plagued by the problems solved by too many problems.
Dewan believes that the call to build more countries is not in the best interest of the country. According to him, creating more countries will lead to increased costs for citizens and governments.
The spokesman noted that most states currently perform poorly and are not feasible. He added that more national creation would be a complement to existing problems.
“As my MP, the facts are very straightforward. For me, I am now against creation in any other state. The reason is simple, I don’t need to create more states when we haven’t managed the existing state yet.
“For me, what we are facing in this country right now, I feel like we have a lot of problems and we need to guide our energy and strength to save the country, not create more countries to increase more wages Billing countries. Why talk more states when we have a lot of questions as a country needs to consider?
“Have we completed the management of the current 36 states? Our unemployment rate in the country is very high. We have a lot of school dropouts and more, talk about disease, topics about infrastructure decay and many questions. Why do we need to add more government burden, more citizen wage bill when we have not addressed the existing problems?
“So, for me, as a person, if you create more states now, whether we like it or not, it’s an invitation to invite more payrolls because new government houses will be built, more governors will Appear, more legislatures will rise in spring, and there will be many problems. I don’t think it is necessary at the momentHe said.
There will always be injustice
The Speaker of the Plateau State emphasized the argument that an increasing number of countries will address injustice in underrepresented groups.
Dewan calls on all Nigerians to patriotism. He pointed out that there are always calls for injustice. He stressed the role of patriotism and good governance in addressing all the concerns raised by all the nation.
He continued: “Well, as I said, I come from a state of over 50 ethnic groups. But first, let’s take a look rationally. What is the definition of injustice? Yes. There are many reasons.
“There are many things that convince people that there are signs of injustice. Yes, there is injustice in this country, but it is not the standard for creating more countries. Instead, we should discuss it roundtable. Let’s talk about patriotism.
“We are all Nigerians. We have agreed to be a Nigeria. So if we agree to be a Nigeria, what are we talking about? Whether you are Ibo, you are Yoruba, you are Hausa, no matter where you come from , Whether you are Nigerian, for me, I think we should preach our powers to each other in preaching unity, rather than treating each other as a problem of creating more states.
“There are no states today, especially in certain parts of the country. Today, the lack of states we create issues that constitute an injustice problem.
“So, I think what we need to do now is educate morality. Understand the whole of life. And we should also remind ourselves that there is nothing in our life whether we like it or not. We only have a very short time to enjoy it when the times are When it comes, we will join our ancestors.
“I think our attention should be more national and more local government approach than all these trivial arguments. Have we done the existing management? That’s the problem.”
