

U-20 AFCON 2025 record champion, Nigeria’s Flying Eagles gained a new opponent after the freshness of the game.
Nigeria’s U-20 team, the Flying Eagles, now finds themselves facing Tunisia, Morocco and Kenya in Group B for the 2025 African U-20 Cup (AFCON). This change was followed by the withdrawal of the host from Côte d’Ivoire and led to duplication. Now, the competition will be held in Egypt from April 27 to May 18, with intense expectations.
Due to logistical issues, the African Football Federation (CAF) confirmed Egypt as the new host. Redraw reorganized the groups at the Egyptian Football Association headquarters in Cairo.
Group A will feature Egypt, Zambia, South Africa, Sierra Leone and Tanzania. Defending champion Senegal’s chief group C, Central African Republic, Congo Doctor and Ghana. Nigeria initially planned to face Egypt and South Africa, now competes with North African giants Tunisia and Morocco, as well as East Africa’s rising challenger Kenya. The first two teams from each group will get automatic positions in the quarterfinals.
