The man claimed that a new recruit received 104,000 naira per month, which increased to 125,000 naira after 15 years of service. He added that additional benefits ranging from N20,000 to N25,000 are also available depending on the release.

A video that has gone viral on social media shows a man identified as a Nigerian soldier detailing what he claims is the pay structure of the Nigerian Army.
According to him, the salary of a new recruit is 104,000 Naira, which will increase to 112,000 Naira after 5 years. He explained that after 10 years of service, the salary will become N115,000 and if one serves in the army for 15 years, the salary will increase to N125,000.
He claimed there were other benefits, ranging from 20,000 Naira to 25,000 Naira depending on the place of service.
However, the video circulated on social media, sparking a lot of discussion about the pay structure. His revelations come against the backdrop of ongoing cases of terrorism and banditry in the country and the role played by the military in combating such crimes, especially when they are underpaid.
