
The Nigerian Meteorological Service (NIMET) predicts the dangers nationwide from Friday to Sunday. In the weather prospects released in Abuja on Thursday, February 13, Nimet predicted moderate dust in the northern and northern regions on Friday.
The agency also said that throughout the forecast period, it is expected that parts of Zamfara, Kano, Katsina, Yobe, Kaduna and Jigawa will be thick in some parts of Zamfara, Kano, Katsina, Yobe, Yobe, Kaduna and Jigawa Dust and haze are expected.
For southern Nigeria, Nimet predicts cloudy skies with occasional sun spells, as well as thunderstorms isolated in the afternoon and evening, especially in parts of Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and Rivers.
On Saturday, February 15, moderate dust fog is expected to continue throughout the day to the northern region. In the central northern region, a slight dust fog is expected in the morning and afternoon/night. The southern region is expected to experience cloudy skies in the sun and conduct thunderstorm predictions on Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and Delta State. Slight dust is also expected in the northern and central northern regions.
On Sunday, February 16, Nimet predicts sunny cloudy sky in Lagos, Odo, Edo, Delta, rivers, Cross River, Cross River and Akwaibo Thunderstorms are isolated in parts of M.
Nimet also advises the public to take necessary precautions because the particles are suspended in the atmosphere. The agency specifically warns people with respiratory problems, such as asthma, to be cautious due to weather conditions.
The agency further urges airline operators to obtain weather reports from Nimet for specific airports to plan their operations appropriately.
