At least nine people were killed in a fatal road crash along Malumfashi-Kafur Road in Casina.
The lone accident involving Hummer bus occurred on Sunday morning, March 30, 2025.
The Katsina national department commander of the federal road safety force Aliyu Ma’aji confirmed the accident in a statement that attributed it to speeding.
“There were nine passengers on the spot, and the other 11 were injured in different degrees and were taken to the hospital for treatment. The preliminary investigation attributed the crash to “speeding and loss of control.”
The FRSC commander urged drivers to act cautiously and warned against speeding, overloading and reckless driving, especially during the holidays.
He added: “Despite the state government’s efforts to improve road infrastructure, reckless driving remains the main cause of the fatal accident in Casina.”
