According to reports, the National Petroleum Corporation of Nigeria (NNPC) Co., Ltd. has fired more than 200 senior staff members as part of a major restructuring of its management.
Naija News Those who are informed of the impact of termination of services include the former Head of National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS), Managing Director of Kaduna Refinery, Bala Wunti, Ibrahim Onoja, Chief Compliance Officer and former Managing Director of NNPC Transactions, Raul said.
According to Cable, the fired official is believed to be a colleague of Mele Kyari, who was removed from office by President Bola Tinubu on April 2, 2025.
The restructuring has resulted in an increase in women’s representation in senior leadership positions, including the appointment of Maryam Idrisu as managing director of NNPC Trade, responsible for all crude oil transactions, and Obioma Abangwu as chief liaison officer on board issues.
