2023 Labor presidential candidate Peter Obi denied any form of participation in the Nigerian presidential election on June 12, 1993.
Obi, in a statement Tuesday’s spokesman Peter Obi Media touched (POMR), Ibrahim Umaralso denied participating in the political struggle on June 12.
According to him, trying to associate him with any role that was abolished on June 12 election was purely craftsmanship for the blackmailers.

The statement denied any allegations that Obi had associated with Arthur Nzeribe’s Association of Nigeria (ABN), which played a role in the abolition of the election.
Statement reading: “The motive of such a rough sunk story is usually not supposed to be our response, but rather to a lovely public who might not match these facts.
“He (Obi) has never been directly or indirectly involved in the fight on June 12.
“After the 1993 election, he moved to the UK with his family and, thanks to his integrity and reputation, a successful business with the support of international financial institutions.
“At the time, Obi was not a politician, but an admirer of Abiola, who voted for him through his connection with the late former Senate President Dr. Chuba Okadigbo.
“When at the University of Nigeria at the University of Nigeria (UNN), Obi was not a political act, but was called a student entrepreneur.”
Obi also denied being a beneficiary of military rule, clarifying that he had never held any government position before becoming governor of Anambra state.
The statement clarified that his only interaction with the former military leader, Kani Abachahis petition for congestion at the port included him in a port deflation commission that lasted for less than four months.
It added that he had never been employed by the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA) and has never benefited from state funds or privileges since he left his post 10 years ago.
The statement concluded: “This is someone who has made uninteresting efforts to sabotage lies by cooking them, including when he mistakenly claimed that he was not even in Nigeria during the crisis on June 12, but lived in the UK.”
