Former Manchester City and England player Joey Barton has never been a person to shy away from controversy, and his latest comments have certainly stirred up the internet.
The former England international appeared on the Common Sense Podcast, claiming that Africa hasn’t trained any as good defenders as Jamie Carragher.

Barton’s support is Jamie Carragher, who claims that the African Cup of Nations is not a big tournament.
Carragher has since clarified his comments, admitting he is clumsy about his own language.
