U.S. President Donald Trump swore on Wednesday, March 12 that no Palestinians were fired from the besieged Gaza Strip.
Trump’s comments were posted after Israel’s far-right Finance Minister Bezales Smotrich said last weekend that Tel Aviv will open a new “Immigration Administration” office under the Ministry of Defense to manage forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza.
He said the plan was supported by the Trump administration.
Recall that Trump reiterated his controversial proposal to control Gaza in February despite some European countries being rejected.
U.S. leader says he is committed to “owning” the war-hitting enclave, a Palestinian militant group, in the fight between Israel and Hamas
“No one expels any Palestinians,” Trump responded to reporters’ questions when he was hosting Irish leader Micheál Martin in the Oval Office on Wednesday.
Arab leaders rejected Trump’s plan and proposed their own, while the U.S. government refused.
