The confrontation sparked intense criticism online and Osimhen faced widespread backlash. His friend Verydarkman also publicly criticized the striker and sent a message to other players.
While hosting Global Sports Update, Rufai Oseni spoke about the incident in a viral video, expressing his strong dissatisfaction with Osimhen’s actions. He suggested that if Osimhen really wanted to leave, he should return to Türkiye and called the striker’s behavior on the pitch “nonsense”.
Oseni further emphasized that Ademola Lookman has reached the highest level of his career and stressed that there should be no clash of egos on the pitch given that both players are excellent professionals.
He added that Osimhen should be allowed to leave the team if necessary and said he would be satisfied if the Super Eagles can succeed at the Africa Cup of Nations without him. Osenyi emphasized that no player is indispensable and that Osimhen is not above his teammates.
