- Solomon Butch advises women not to equate poverty with virtue, and warns that being broke does not equate to good character, vision or long-term potential in a man.
- He believes that financial distress itself should not be mistaken for moral rectitude or future success.

Social media commentator and author Solomon Buchi has sparked discussion online with his candid take on relationships and finances, especially when it comes to choosing a life partner.
In a post shared on Thursday, Butch warned women against romanticizing poverty or assuming that a man’s lack of wealth automatically translates into good character, vision or long-term potential. He believes that financial distress itself should not be mistaken for moral rectitude or future success.
He wrote: “Not everyone who is broke is a good person. Not everyone who is broke has a bright future. Not everyone who is broke has a vision.
Not everyone who goes bankrupt makes a good husband. Be as careful when choosing a broke person as you are when choosing a rich person.
Poverty is not another name for virtue. “

In the viral video, the teenager, named Samuel, lifts and throws bags of plastic waste at a collection point. He explained that each bag filled with cardboard and rubber material brought him between £1,000 and £2,000, which he used to buy the tools he needed for the tile work.
Later, TikTok content creator @bayuztvs approached Samuel to ask him why he got involved in the waste disposal business and who introduced him to the industry. The teenager revealed he needed money to buy work tools and his parents had no idea what he was doing.
According to Samuel, he learned about tiling many years ago but was unable to start working professionally due to a lack of equipment. He listed the items he needed and said:
“Cutter, mallet, court and knife.”
Content creators were moved by his determination and immediately offered their support. Samuel was taken to get a haircut, put on new clothes, and eat in a restaurant. He was also surprised to find a tiling tool he needed, a new mobile phone and £50,000 in cash.
Samuel was so moved by this gesture that he burst into tears and rolled on the floor to express his gratitude. In his excitement, he also asked to see his mother, which further moved netizens.
