Media personality Toke Makinwa recently shared a touching insight into how becoming a mother has changed what people call her.
Toker revealed that since giving birth to her first child in August 2025, people now call her son’s name more often than her own.
She wrote, “No one calls me TM anymore… it’s ‘Mummy Yaya’ everywhere I go… Omo mi so mi l’oruko tun-tun,” expressed joy at the new affectionate title.
Toker noted that going from being recognized primarily as a celebrity to being known through her children has been a moving and unique experience.

In other news… A Nigerian man is going viral after revealing that a woman completely changed his feelings for her on their second date with just one show of financial awareness.
The man explained on social media that he had planned to take the relationship slowly, but her reaction to an expensive item immediately led him to believe she might be the one.
The man recounted that they went to a Coldstone Creamery inside a ShopRite, where he ordered two medium glasses. When he heard the price, he was shocked, but tried to hide his reaction:
“We went to ShopRite, Coldstone branch, and I confidently ordered two medium cups. They said 14k each. I’m really not complaining that I don’t look like a mumu.”
However, his date immediately stepped in and offered a cheaper alternative:
“But she immediately said, ‘That’s too high a price, let’s get it cheaper.'” There was no embarrassment, no restraint, no entitlement, just pure concern. “
She then took him to a frozen yoghurt shop where they bought cones for £2,500 each, which she “totally agreed with”.
The man admitted that this simple act dramatically changed his perception of her:
“Here’s what’s bothering me right now: I’ve been putting off this relationship because I don’t want to rush it and regret it. But that one small gesture actually made me see her differently and she might actually be the one. Or am I overthinking it?”
