
National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu has handed over 59 rescued kidnapping victims to the Kaduna State Government.
Joint security forces coordinated by the Joint Security Forces (ONSA) of the Military and Intelligence Agency coordinated by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), rescued the victims on the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway in the Rijana region of the state.
They were handed over to Governor Uba Sani, who was represented by Governor Sani Liman Kila at a brief ceremony held in the office of the National Security Adviser in Abuja on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
Ribadu said the victim said the victim was composed of 28 women, 24 men and 6 children, and one was reportedly hospitalized.
The National Security Agency added that the federal government is working around the clock to ensure that other victims who are still in prison are released.
“Well, we are here again as a joint action of all security forces under the President’s directive to ensure we bring peace, security and return to normality to the country,” he said.
“Today, we just received those captured by bandit kidnapping. They returned home and we have seen them.
“Thousands of people have received grace and the work of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu can bring peace and security, restoration of freedom, and they are recovering. We believe it is a journey. .
“A lot has happened. We are restoring order, we bring justice, we bring peace back to our country.
There are about 59 people today. Last week, another similar figure was underway along the country. This is also a joint operation of all security forces under the directive of Mr. President.
“I want to thank all the people in charge or the forefront of the battle to ensure our security in our country. The armed forces, the intelligence community, the civil police, all of us are working and we see the results.
“We thank God for the opportunity. It is indeed a matter of time before we will continue to work. Nigeria will be peaceful and we will surely restore order.”
National Counter-Terrorism Center (NCTC) Coordinator, Major. Adamu Laka revealed that some of the victims were imprisoned for four months before being rescued.
