Senator Peter Nwaoboshi accused the police of the police officer that the police supervisor violated the court’s order to restrict law enforcement agencies to arrest or detain him.

According to NWAOBOSHI, the Apuba Federal High Court issued the order on July 17, 2024, with the lawsuit number FCT/HC/CV/2916/2024 and Moving Number M/9638/2024.

The court ordered the special prosecutor and other respondents to arrest or detain NWAOBOSHI until the case was finally decided.

Despite the ruling, NWAOBOSHI said that the police failed to obey, prompting his legal team to file a TEMP lawsuit against IGP.

NWAOBOSHI’s legal team argued that Article 72 of the Sheriff and Civil Process Law allowed them to seek contempt lawsuits to avoid obeying the court’s instructions.

Senators described the behavior of IGP as “insults and principles of the rule of law”, and the senators vowed to maintain the rule of law and warn that if the court’s decision continued to be the court’s integrity was ignored.

NWAOBOSHI’s legal team asserted: “Unless the same court is revoked or overturned in the appeal, the court’s order, whether it is right or wrong.”

Judge Kekemeke said in accordance with his order: “The interviewees themselves or through their officials, no matter what specified people are limited until the notice of the motion was finalized.”

The court set substantial motion on October 28, 2024, providing temporary legal protection for NWAOBOSHI to prevent any further law enforcement operations.

As the senators’ legal teams are preparing to challenge the so -called protests of the police, the case is expected to attract great attention due to its political and legal significance.
