A senior professor at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) of Ole-Ife at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) announced today at a department meeting on March 6.
Abiodun Olarewaju, the university’s public relations officer, said that at a department meeting this morning (Wednesday, March 5, 2025), his colleagues noticed him “abnormal breathing” and were immediately taken to the University Health and Medical Center.
After a quick medical examination by the on-duty team of doctors, he was handed over to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex (OAUTHC) also at Ile-Ife, where he was pronounced dead.
The statement added that OAU Vice-Chancellor Professor Adebayo Bamire led other members of his management team to mourn the visits to the late academician’s widow and children.
