Former Edo Governor Godwin Obaseki sympathized with the Okpekpe people in the local government area of the eastern region of Ido State for alleged unconscious attacks on the community by herders.

Obaseki described the incident as a heartbreaking and unfortunate event, urging relevant authorities to strengthen efforts to bring justice to the perpetrators and ensure peace and security in the state.
The statement reads:Mr. Godwin Obaseki, former governor of Edo State, sympathized with the Okpekpe people in the local government area of Esarko in the eastern part of Ikko State, and was unconsciously attacked by suspected herders on the community, resulting in order Crispy murder Batemue Philip Ebo and Christopher Bello.
“Obaseki said I was very upset by the misfortune and unconscious attacks of Etsako Eastako East Community in the local government area of the Ido State, leading to two innocent citizens, Batemue Philip Ebo and Christopher Bello.
“My heart and prayer are with the people of the Okpekpe community and the families of the dead during this very difficult time.
“This unconscious attack is a tragedy that we pray that we will never witness in the community. We urge all state actors responsible for the security of the state to respond quickly to end this chaos and ensure that we are responsible for this abominable act People are brought to justice.”
