Famous businessman Obi Cubana, whose real name is [insert name]A statement was issued to address the growing insecurity in Nigeria and the life sentence of Nnamdi Kanu.
Kanu was recently sentenced to life imprisonment by the Federal High Court in Abuja, a sentence that has heightened tensions, particularly over the political future of the Southeast.
Obi Kubana stressed that the recent attacks are deeply worrying for the country.
“Umunne m, the events of the past few days have left everyone confused and frustrated. From the United States designating Nigeria as a country of special concern, to the kidnapping of schoolgirls in Kebbi, the kidnapping of Kwara churchgoers, the killing of Brigadier General, the sentencing of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and the recent kidnapping of over 50 students from Catholic schools in Niger State. The mood in the country is so bad that most rational people would be worried,” he said.
He also shared insights from his meeting with Deputy Speaker Ben Kalu and Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, revealing that their discussions focused on topics such as insecurity, taxation and Kanu’s release.
“In multiple encounters over the past three months, I, along with other well-meaning Nigerians, sat down on two auspicious occasions with the Deputy Speaker @officialbenkalu and then with the President’s son @seyitinubu. The pressing issues discussed were insecurity, the new tax regime affecting businesses, ease of doing business in the country, Customs, FIRS, NAFDAC and a political solution that could lead to the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. I can tell you that a lot of effort has been made on these issues,” he said.
Kubana called on the Igbo people to be united and revealed that efforts were underway behind the scenes to secure Kanu’s freedom.
“My dear brothers and sisters, now is not the time to divide us further. Many people have been working tirelessly behind the scenes, devoting time and resources to ensure that our brother Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is freed and reunited with us. One thing that is very clear here is: if MNK is not freed, no Igbo man or woman will have peace, and the Ala Igbo will never be the same again… Tempers are high, words are kept, but one thing is also clear: we all want MNK out, and we will not rest until MNK is out.” he said.
He concluded by calling on President Tinubu to listen to the voice of the people.
“Our dear President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialasiwajubat, it’s time you listen to the cry of our people and free Nnamdi Kanu,” he said.
