Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu (commonly known as Odumodublvck) opened up the incident, which cut his microphone off during the 2025 Headies Awards acceptance speech.

Recall April 27, 2025, rice Crooner won the coveted next rating award in the 17th Annual Headies. But while giving emotional and lengthy acceptance speeches on the stage with the entourage, Odumodublvck’s microphone suddenly muted, causing a mixed reaction online.

A few days after the incident, the rapper introduced his official X page, spelling out what really happened. According to him, his microphone was turned off because he began talking about Jesus Christ on stage. He claimed that if his speech was about Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, he would not be interrupted.

Despite the situation on the Headies Awards, Odumodublvck insisted that there was no hostility to the organizers and expressed his gratitude for the final recovery of the microphone, which allowed him to complete the speech.

In his post, he wrote: “I’m talking about Jesus, and they’re trying to get me to close. I’m a hundred sure if I’m talking about His Lord Governor Babajid Sanwo-olu, I’m not cut off. I really don’t have blood, but blood on these heads, but I’m grateful that I put my microphone back to the original gospel. Jesus is the king. He is now.

The statement has since sparked a conversation on social media, with many applauding the rapper’s bold and unwavering beliefs.

I’m talking about Jesus and they’re trying to get me to close.

I’m 100% sure that if I talk about his Your Excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, I wouldn’t be cut off.

I really didn’t have blood towards my head.

Instead, I’m grateful that they put my microphone…
