Omo-agege promises that if voted in favor of taking office in 2027, the APC will ensure considerable development for the people of Ijaw and Itsekiri.
Senator Ovie Omo-agege, a candidate for the National Progress Conference (APC), condemned the continuous PDP-led government of Delta State in the 2023 election, condemning the ongoing neglect and underdeveloped local government areas in Burrutu and Bomadi.
Omo-agege expressed deep concern about the pathetic state of the road and the general lack of development in two local government areas.
He lamented that after 25 years of PDP rule, there was little progress in these regions, and despite their abundant natural resources and contributions to the treasury of the delta state treasury, the people were in trouble.
“For decades, Belutu and Bomadi have been major economic contributors to the Delhi wealth. However, there is little to prove when it comes to development,” Omo-agege said.
He noted that although the PDP has controlled Delta’s Southern Senate seats, House seats and parliamentary seats for 24 years, successive administrations have failed to invest in these local governments.
Omo-agege questioned the inflationary cost of Warri’s flyover project, which underscores the $80 billion built by Rivers State, while the Delta State spent just $85 billion.
He added that costs could increase further due to expected differences, which stressed that the project should not be that expensive.
Additionally, Omo-agege challenged the government to explain why it has received over $1 trillion in FAAC allocation since May 2023, but it failed to build a simple 20km highway connecting Burutu to Bomadi.

Omo-agege urges people in two local government areas to demand state accountability.
He assured them that if voted in 2027 for taking office, the APC would ensure that the people of Ijaw and Itsekiri get quite a bit of development.
“It’s been a long time since these nationalities were granted political appointments without tangible improvements to their infrastructure and living conditions. This will change if the APC votes against it in 2027,” he said.
Omo-agege insists that appointments are not a substitute for real development and vows to continue advocating the infrastructure and economic empowerment that Burutu and Bomadi deserve.

The Vice-Senate President of the 9th Congress Senator Ovie Omo-agege described the death of Chief Ek Clark as the end of an eventful era characterized by the outstanding role of some of the leaders who had built hard and fought to build Nigeria.
He said his actions were based on justice, fair competition, fairness and a true federal system.
