Members representing Orumba North and South at the House of Representatives Chinwe Clara Nnabuife, have officially joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), leaving behind her former party, Young Progressive Party (YPP).

Nnabuife announced the news at a ceremony in Awka, Anambra State on Sunday, where she defeated Okwudili Ezenwankwo under the YPP banner to win her federal seat.

Nnabuife expressed her belief in her speech to a group of supporters and APGA members, who believed that her defection was inevitable.

She announced that “What’s going on today – I’m back home,” Referring to her return to the party where she began her political journey.

Nnabuife added, highlighting her commitment to APGA, “If APGA had 70% of the last election, it would be 99.5% from now on.” Shows that she believes her return will further promote the party’s prospects.

She called for collective support to advance the party’s agenda and praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his continued commitment to the APGA, as well as his support during the election.

Nnabuife describes her return as the dawn of a new era for the people of Orumba North and South, urging others to join the APGA, emphasizing that it is “defeating the party” in the upcoming November 8 governoral election.

She expressed optimism that her defection would strengthen the APGA’s political influence in the region.

Naija News The report said that ifeatu obiokoye, president of Anambra State University in Apga, welcomed Nnabuife into the fold and urged party members to work together to consolidate the party’s existence and strength. He also made it clear that the APGA will not tolerate anti-party activities.

To demonstrate her commitment to her new political affiliation, Obiokoye presented Nnabuife with a temporary membership card and promised to be a witness to its members if necessary.

APGA Chairman, Cyril Nwobu and Chike Nwafor, respectively, described Nnabuife’s defection as a landmark activity for the party, noting that it further affirmed the growing popularity and acceptance of Apga among the people. They encourage other politicians in the region to follow Nnabuife’s example.

Famous VIPs participated in the event, including Orumba South Chairman Shedrack Azubuike; Ngozi Pobidike, Vice Chairman of Orumba South; and Engineer Emmanuel Nwafor, Member of the Anambra State Assembly.
