A former President Donald Trump was shot dead by the sheriff’s deputy in his role in the January 6 Capitol riot, who was shot dead after a fierce dispute during a traffic stop in Jasper County, Indiana.
The incident happened on January 26 and was captured on a human-body camera. According to law enforcement, Matthew Huttle was driving at 70 mph in the 55 mph area.
As Jasper County Sheriff’s deputy approached, Hurtel left his SUV. The agent told him that he was a habitual traffic violation and was arrested.
Huttle looked very painful and shook his head, insisting that he couldn’t go to jail. When the agent reiterated that he was arrested for committing a felony, Huttel suddenly drove to the SUV driver’s seat.
The agent caught up with him, causing physical struggles in the car. During the dispute, Hartle threatened to commit suicide. Then the agent pulled out his weapon, drove several rounds, and killed him on the scene.
Prosecutors reviewed the shooting and ruled that the attorney was legal and justified in the use of deadly force. No lawsuit was filed against the official.
Before his death, Hartle pleaded guilty during the riot on January 6 and was sentenced to six months in jail in 2023. However, he was later pardoned by Trump and received a significant legal probation.
