Mudashiru Obasa has not yet participated in any seats in the House of Representatives a month after his controversial role as speaker of the Lagos State Capitol.
Obasa was removed from office by a majority of 40 members’ congress on January 13, 2025 on charges of financial misuse and abuse of positions.
After returning from the United States on January 25, 2025, Obasa strongly denied allegations of corruption, challenging his colleagues to confirm his claims.

“My place in the house? I firmly believe that I am still a speaker until I get it right.
“If you want to delete me, delete me the right way and I won’t debate it. I’m a Muslim and I believe in fate. But let’s do it the way we should do it,” Obasa believes. Despite his return, Obasa did not attend any seats, and his absence remained a subject of strong political speculation.
Lagos spokesman Obasa spurred aight
On Monday, Mudashiru Obasa, the speaker of the impeachment at the Lagos State Capitol, accused him of multiple statutory and financial violations.
The legislator immediately replaced him with Lasbat Meranda, who represented the Apapa constituency.
