One of the world’s largest pedophile networks has been removed in an international sweep operation coordinated by Europol. Created specifically for sexually exploiting children, the dark web platform “Kidflix” offers approximately 72,000 abuse videos, including “unterrible horror acts of children, toddlers and even babies.” The website was founded in 2021 and has gained more than 1.8 million users in the five years before its closure on March 11, 2025.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of 79 individuals and identified more than 1,400 other suspects using the platform. Many arrested people are not only viewers and uploaders of the video, but also participate in child abuse. In a particularly disturbing case, a 36-year-old man was detained for offering abuse to his young son, and a serial abuser in the United States was also found.
The action, led by the German authorities, is known as the “flow of action” and is hailed as one of the most important blows to child pornography in recent years. Deputy Chief of the Bavarian Criminal Police Guido Limmer described it as “one of the biggest blows to child pornography ever”. The operation involved 36 countries, including the United Kingdom.
The scale of abuse promoted by “Kidflix” is shocking, with an average of 3.5 new videos uploaded per hour. Unlike other child abuse sites, the platform allows users to stream and download videos, creating highly organized and profitable operations. Grant access by buying tokens using cryptocurrencies or by completing tasks such as classification or uploading abused materials.
Catherine de Bolle, executive director of Europol, emphasized the real consequences of these crimes, noting that “there are real victims behind these crimes, and these victims are children.” As part of the operation, German authorities intervened in 96 matches to protect children, including 12 instances of the suspension of ongoing abuse, providing protection to 39 children throughout the investigation.
Most suspects are between 20 and 40 years old, with an average age of 31 years old. Although most suspects have been active on the dark web for a long time, the smallest suspect was found to be born in 2006, and the oldest suspect was in the 1970s.
