“Only alliances with other political parties can save power from APC” – PDP Chief

Ladan Salihu, former director of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and former Nigerian Federal Radio Corporation (FRCN), stressed the need to defeat the ruling of all Progressive Congress (APC) in the general election in 2027.

Salihu announced Thursday in a morning summary on channel TV that cooperation among political parties is the only viable way to regain power from the APC.

“We all agreed when we met with Atiku and others that we should allied with other political parties to save democracy from the APC. Getting together is strategic, helpful and will produce the numbers necessary to succeed,” Salihu revealed.

Naija News Report this with Recent Comments By former vice president Atiku AboubacarHe noted that any opposition alliance that will be held by 2027 will not be limited to a political platform.

Former FRCN DG warns that if there is no such alliance, the president Tinubu BallRe-election is almost guaranteed. “From our standpoint today, PDP alone cannot win. If we don’t cooperate and bring all stakeholders under a protective umbrella, Tinubu will return,” He warned.

In addition to joint politics, Salihu also raised serious concerns about internal power dynamics within the PDP. He criticized the recent PDP Governors Forum meeting held in Ibadan for violating the party’s constitution.

“The PDP has a constitutionally guided genealogy and history, just as any country acts under the rule of law.,” he said. What we see in the results of the Ibadan Governors’ Meeting is a mistake. It seems to me that the Governors Forum has taken over the powers of the National Executive Committee (NEC), which is unconstitutional. ”

Salihu noted that the governor’s actions could undermine the party’s internal democracy. “Assuming that the forum within the party can appear, organize the National Congress, establish committees with the chairman and internal members, and have complete control over the party structure – it is overwhelmingly unconstitutional,” he said.

He also noted that during the Governors’ Meeting, members of the National Working Committee (NWC) and NEC were clearly absent, saying the development was exclusive.

“Everything I see in the actions of the Governors Forum is an abuse of the constitutionality of PDP,” Salihu said.

He issued a stern warning in reflecting on the party’s past mistakes:If this trend continues, it will be as if we were a party that took the first shot and targeted later. When we lose, we end up blaming the game, rather than making timely, strategic decisions. A governor must never be a dictator. ”
