- Fayose has warned that Rivers State Governor Sime Fubala faces serious impeachment threats, saying only fasting, prayers and the intervention of President Tinubu can save him.
- Feyos accused Tomihara of marginalizing him in the state assembly, defended Wike’s political clout and said he had earlier warned Tomihara not to fall out with the former governor.

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose says only fasting, prayers and presidential intervention can save Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara from impeachment proceedings initiated by members of the state House of Assembly loyal to the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Fayosi made the remarks in an interview with a television channel on Friday, January 9, while reacting to the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State.
Speaking on the disagreement between Wike and Fubala, Fayose accused the Rivers governor of allegedly taking action without the constitutional approval of the state House of Assembly.
“I am no prophet, but what is happening to Rivers now, it requires fasting and prayer to save Tomihara; it requires presidential intervention.
How can he appoint cabinet members and spend money without the support of the Constitution and the approval of state parliaments?
People are talking about Wike; delete Wike. Can you delete who or what he is? Didn’t you see people popping up during his rallies? “ Fayose asked.
The former governor revealed that he warned Tomihara on the day of his inauguration not to betray Wike, warning that a political confrontation with him would be costly.
“During his tenure, I told Wick that I wanted to tell Tomihara a thing or two, not to betray him, but Wick said I shouldn’t worry, Tomihara wouldn’t do that. I told Tomihara not to fight that guy, he would fight and he wouldn’t stop fighting.” he said.
Fayose also noted that President Bola Tinubu abhors ingratitude, adding that political loyalty is important in power dynamics. According to him, Wike’s appointment as FCT Minister is crucial for him to continue to be effective.
“If it were not for the grace of God, those whom the president has helped may abandon him. If the president does not appoint FCT Wike as a minister, he may be buried in politics.” Fayose said.
