
Agents from the Osun Amotekun Corps arrested six suspected criminals, including a former criminal and a prison escapee for armed robbery, burglary and theft.
After the intelligence report, the suspect was arrested at different locations across the state.
Osun Amotekun Corps Commander Adekunle Isaac Omoyele disclosed this during the parade on Friday, April 18
Omoyele said the prison escapeer identified as John Uba was arrested in the Fiwasaye area of Osogbo on Thursday, April 18, 2025.
He revealed that after investigation, the suspect had been previously escaped by the custody of Nigerian police in the OTA-INFUN department.
Osun Amotekun boss added that UBA revealed he was a repeat offender.
“We received intelligence from the Fiwasaye area of Osogbo about ongoing armed robbery. Our officers responded immediately and successfully arrested one of the culprits, John Uba, a 26-year-old man for stealing cell phones and other valuables,” he said.
“Further investigation revealed that the suspect had previously escaped from the OTA-defun division of the Nigerian police force. He also admitted to being a repeat offender.
“The suspect has since been handed over to the OTA-IFUN Police Department for further investigation and prosecution.”
Other suspects parades include a 28-year-old Sheriff Adremi who was arrested for stealing a 5.6 million guild guild cable at Hemmed Omidiran University in the Kola Balogun area of Osogbo.
Investigations show that the sheriff is also a former criminal with a history of theft.
Another suspect, Saheed Babatunde, 26, was arrested on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 in the Isale-Osun area of Osobo, stolen iron steel worth N280,000 after complaints about citizens.
Omoyele also revealed that Babatunde had previously been sentenced to jail for similar crimes.
Idowu Tajudeen, 27, Bamanga Geoffrey 24 and Femi Adeniyi, 22, were also arrested for personnel in safety clothing for allegedly stolen and stolen pumping machines and other valuables worth 8.5 million n5.5 billion n5.5 billion n5.5 billion n5.5 billion n5.5 billion n5.5 billion.
Omoyele calls on the people of Osun State to continue to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to Amotekun Corps or other security agencies, and continue to support the efforts to safe clothing.
He promised that until every criminal was eliminated, they would not succumb to their efforts.
“The criminals can escape, but they cannot hide them,” he declared.
He also revealed that all suspects will be prosecuted accordingly.
