
Orson Governor Ademola Adeleke confirmed that local government elections scheduled for Saturday, February 22 will always be held and will be held by the Orson State Independent Election Commission (OSSIEC).
The governor made the claim on Friday morning, February 21, while accepting a delegation from state coalitions of governments, which oversee local government elections in the state.
According to Adeleke, Osson voters are ready to exercise their voting rights on Saturday.
“I welcome everyone to join Osun State. Our people prepare for election tomorrow. They are eager to have their own choices as Chairman and Members of Parliament.
“Ossiec is also doing excellent preparations based on my reports. Several political parties are participating and I believe all will have a level basis to test their popularity among the masses.”
In the election dispute, the governor asserted that democracy is bound by the rule of law and that no one can seize the authority of the court.
“My advice to all parties, including local and national stakeholders, is to abide by democratic norms. As for me and my people, we adhere to the rule of law, not illegal self-help.
“The election will be held and the result will be rapid development at the local level. I urge our people to keep peace. Orson is a truly peaceful country,” Governor Adleck said.
This is on the federal Attorney General (AGF) and Attorney General SAN’s Attorney General and Attorney General SAN warned that until October this year, the election of the chairman and lawmakers will expire on the APC platform. He added that any action to the contrary is illegal.
