Nigerian lawyer and entertainment consultant Ayo Shonaiya continues to controversy over disputes involving singer Speed Darlington and the State Agency for Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
The agency invited Speed Darlington to ask questions after claiming in an Instagram video that he slept with a 15-year-old virgin girl in the hotel and paid a staff member to clean up blood. After refusing multiple invitations to commemorate, Naptip announced that he wanted to do so last Friday.

In the new video, Speed Darlington doubled, noting that he would not be in front of the agency. According to him, although his remarks may be reckless “Irresponsible remarks are not crimes.” He insisted that NAPTIP lacked any real evidence for him, and even laughed at the situation, saying that if they wanted him to show up, they should pay him 2.5 million appearance fees.
Ayo Shonaiya responded to the incident, acknowledging that the issue should not be trivial, but the controversial singer may have a valid legal view.
“Legally, this idiot actually has a point of view.” Shonaiya said there is no clear evidence that simply making an unsettling statement may not meet the threshold for prosecution.
The matter sparked a heated debate online, with many Nigerians splitting between treating Speed Darlington’s comments as bad taste jokes and other situations that demanded him to be held accountable.
