First, let’s first define the different parts of the sewing machine and their functions.

    What is a sewing machine?

A sewing machine is a mechanically driven needle that is used to sew material with threads. It is designed to sew fabric or leather pieces or leather through locking seams or chains.

The sewing machine makes basic running stitches in the way of two thread sources. The thimble brings the thread downwards into the fabric. It captures and loops through the bobbin device and then pulls backwards.

“Feed the Dog” moves it and the next stitch begins. Each operation will be repeated again and again.

Parts of sewing machines and their functions

There are two main parts of the sewing machine: one is the upper part and the other is the lower part.

The upper part contains the head, arms and bed.

The lower part contains pulleys, pulley cranks, Pittman rods, belt guides, belt hand change, dress up, pedals, legs.

The upper part of the sewing machine and its functions

The head, arms and bed contain various parts. The upper part of the sewing machine indicates the following beginners in alphabetical order:

    1. arm
    2. Balance wheel/hand wheel
    3. bed
    4. Bobbin
    5. Bobbin case
    6. Bobbin cover
    7. Bobbin Winder
    8. panel
    9. Feed the dog
    10. head
    11. Needle
    12. Needle rod
    13. Needle clip
    14. Mode/stitch selector
    15. Presser foot
    16. Presser foot rod
    17. Reverse rod
    18. skateboard
    19. Spindle pin
    20. Spindle needle wrap
    21. Stitch adjuster
    22. Take leverage

    Upper function

    1. arm: The arm is the curved part of the head that contains the mechanism for operating the needle.

    2. Balance wheel/hand wheel: The balance wheels set up the mechanism in motion. It is used to lift and lower the needle manually. The wheel is driven by an electric motor, but can be rotated by hand to adjust the height of the sewing needle. The wheels are located on the right side of the sewing machine.

    3. bed: The bed is the flat part of the machine, and the feed dogs that are installed underneath are placed on the shuttle bus and the lower line. This part of the function is to stabilize the machine to rest in a permanent position.

    4. Shunshape case: The bobbin box is where the bobbin lives. This is a device that houses the bobbin and provides tension to the lower wire. When the needle is pulled around the bobbin box, it wraps around the bobbin wire and pulls it into the needle plate.

    5. Bobbin cover: It covers the bobbin and bobbin box in the machine.

    6. Bobbin Winder: The spiral wire winder controls the bobbin when winding the wire. A simple mechanism for winding wires on the bobbin. During bobbin, the winding should be maintained at a moderate speed. If it’s faster, you can pull or break the thread.

    7. Bobbin: Provides a low-temperature spool with lower lines. The stitch is formed by circulating the bobbin thread and the needle thread together.

    8. panel: The cover during removal allows access to the oiling points on the needle bar, press bar and unloading bar.

    9. Feed the dog: Feeding dogs are small textured metals that move fabrics during sewing.

    10. head: Complete sewing machine without cabinets or carry-on boxes.

    11. Needle rod: The needle rod is a steel rod that holds the needle at one end with the help of a clamp. Its main function is to give needles.

    12. Needle clip: Secure and tighten the needle. It holds the needle in its actual position.

    13. Needle: This is a very slender piece of metal with a dot at one end and a hole or thread of the eye at the other end. Needles form stitches in the garment.

    14. Mode/stitch selector: It determines the type of stitches, such as straight or embroidered stitches or zigzags.

    15. Pressure foot: When sewing, presser feet hold the fabric in place. The presser foot is attached to the machine’s calf and the handle is either “high”, “low” or “tilt”. Secure the appropriate presser foot to the selected suture.

    16. Pressure foot rod/lift: The main function of this section is to raise or lower the press foot. Lower the foot to engage the tension disc around the thread.

You can control the pressure applied by the pressure foot by using the pressure adjustment of the machine.

    17. Reverse rod: The liver can press down the lever so that the mechanism can move backward or reverse.

    18. skateboard: The skateboard is a movable rectangular plate covering the bobbin case. This helps to clear the bobbin box without lifting the machine.

    19. Hole-wrapped spool pin: When winding the bobbin, place the spool on it.

    20. Spool pin: It is located on the top of the sewing machine. The main function of the spool pin is to maintain the threaded package. It can be horizontal or vertically until position.

twenty one. Stitch regulator: It controls the length and width of the stitches on the fabric. This determines the width or narrowness of the stitch you want. and the length of the stitch you want.

twenty two.: Picking up the rod is an important part of the threaded sewing machine and understanding the upward position of the sewing machine needle.

The lever moves up and down with the needle and keeps the tension correct.

twenty three. Tension CD: The two concave discs and the convex surface face each other. Thread passes between the two. The tension disc controls the looseness and tightness of the stitches.

twenty four. Wire Cutter: Many modern machines come with a small blade that is fixed to the left side of the machine to easily cut the tail instead of looking for scissors after each seam. It is built into the machine. It is usually located behind the needle.

    25. Threading Guide: It keeps the thread in place and guides the thread from the spool to the needle.

    26. Throat plate or needle plate: It is a semicircular disc plate. The metal plate covers the breeding dog and bobbin shell.

It usually has markers that can be used to guide the fabric at a specific seam allowance. Etching helps keep the seams straight.

The lower part of the sewing machine

The lower part of the sewing machine is pointed out below:

    1. With wheels
    2. Wheel crank
    3. Pitman Rod
    4. Belt Guide
    5. Belt gear lever
    6. tailor
    7. Pedal or foot pedal
    8. leg

    Lower function

    1. With wheels Lead the balance wheel through the belt connection.
    2. Wheel crank Move the pulley.
    3. Pitman Rod Secure the pedal to the wheel crank.
    4. Belt Guide Secure the belt in its position.
    5. Belt gear lever Remove the belt from the wheels.
    6. tailor Protect clothes from the steering wheel.
    7. Pedal or foot pedal It is to mount the foot on the foot and pass the pulley through the Pittman pole. It regulates the start, run and stop of the machine
    8. leg
      Support cabinet.
