In the 2023 elections, Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi and former interior minister Rauf Aregbesola were on Thursday at an outstanding figure at the Afenifere workshop held in memory of the late Ayo Adebanjo.
A workshop entitled “Afenifere – Identity, Thoughts and Ideology” was held to celebrate the legacy of the late Adebanjo, Afenifere, the factional leader of the Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organization.

In a Thursday article on 𝕏 (formerly Twitter), Peter Obi described the incident as an opportunity to reflect on the values advocated by Afenifere over the years. He stressed the organization’s commitment to true federalism, democracy and good governance.
Obi said, “Today, I am honored to attend the inaugural symposium organized by Pan Yuruba to celebrate the extraordinary legacy of Chief Ayo Adebanjo. This workshop is not only a gathering of thought leaders, but also a profound reflection on the Afenifere Afenifere and Frunderalist of Frunderalish of Frunderation of Frunderation and Odentimandy of Decordation of Decordation of Decordation, and a profound reflection on the values of realism.
He added that the event highlighted Adebaho’s firm commitment to justice, equity and unity in Nigeria.
“Throughout the discussion, Chief Ayo Adebanjo’s firm commitment to justice, fairness and true unity of Nigeria was responded to,” Obi wrote.
The Labor candidate further pointed out that celebrating Adebaho’s life and legacy with fellow patriots strengthened the ongoing struggle for just, democratic and fair Nigeria.
“Celebrating the lives and legacy of Chief Adebanjo with the Patriots with the lives and legacy of fellow patriots and advocating for a better Nigeria, reaffirming that the struggle for just, democracy and fair Nigeria continues. The rule of law in Nigeria prevails without any violation of our democratic nations,” he said. He came to the conclusion.
The seminar attracted several prominent figures, including the former Minister of Education May in West Kwishleyand human rights advocate Dele Farotimi, who joined discussions on the impact of Adebanjo on the national political landscape.
