Police in Ekiti state arrested a 23-year-old man allegedly attempted to use his little nephew Jomiloju for a money ceremony, identified as Solomon Fabiyi. Solomon was arrested by a team of police officers in Ekiti State on February 14, 2025.
When questioned, the suspect from Kwara State but born in Ekiti State said he was told by local doctors that he should provide him with people he could use to perform money rituals for him. According to him, local doctors told him that they would not die in this way, but would live with illness for the rest of their lives.
Solomon said he chose to introduce his nephew, who intends to make sure that his deserving nephew received money from his sacrifice while fighting disease, getting an education and a “good life.”
He said he lived with Jomiloju’s mother and helped take care of Jomiloju.
National Police Command spokesman Abutu said on Sunday that the incident confirmed the incident, with the suspect pleading guilty to the crime and has been prosecuted in court.
