According to Mr Obi: Earlier this week, I received a letter from the Nsukka Dental Student Association of the University of Nigeria calling for emergency intervention and support about 40,000,000 to upgrade its lab and expand graduation and admission quotas for the department as part of its re-accreditation process.
In respect of the condolences of our former President, I avoid making any public statements during this period. Now that the mourning has officially ended, I feel it is important to act without delay. Today, I visited because we cannot be very conscienced and continue to allow our young people to suffer from leadership failures.
As part of my strong commitment to advancing education and health care in my dear country, I donated 15,000,000 times to the Nigerian University Dental Student Association to assist them in their ongoing education as students in the school’s medical and dental departments.
I continue to question the country we are building, where our leaders and civil servants spend millions of dollars on luxury cars, ignoring the key areas of development, health, education and lifting people out of poverty. This is a tragedy of a wrong priority.
When we failed to prioritize education, health care and poverty alleviation, but invested billions in conference centers and bus parks, we betrayed our youth and undermined the future of our dear country. We must invest in the future of Nigerian youth.
New Nigeria is possible. -po
