Labour’s former presidential candidate Peter Obi revealed he will take a break with public events after medical advice.
In an article shared on his official X account on Saturday, the former government of Anambra State University explained that he started to feel uncomfortable while attending the event at Enugu.
After consulting with a doctor, he was taken with medication and was instructed to take a day or two off.
“According to the doctor’s advice, I will not be able to attend the scheduled events in and outside Nigeria this weekend. I am very sorry that this may cause any inconvenience to you and seek your understanding.” Obi said.
He also reviewed his activities before health issues, which included participating in a tour program in Enugu and then visiting the Good Hope Specialty Hospital in Isulo, Anambra State Orumba South LGA. There, he donated 10 million to support the acquisition and upgrading of the hospital in the Nigerian church’s parish of Aguata.
Obi praised the Parish initiative, which extended hospitals to mature medical complexes with nursing, midwife and health technologies, saying healthcare investment is one of the most valuable contributions to national development.
After visiting Isulo, he headed to Owerri of Imo State University, where he attended a dinner hosted by barrister Nnaemeka Maduagwu in honor of former Kaduna Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
