Daniel Bwala, the special counsel for the President of Media and Policy President Turnab, claimed that Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi will leave the party soon.
Bwala said in an interview on TVC on Wednesday, March 12 that Obi will join all Progress Conferences (APCs) before the 2027 election.
“Did you know we’re emptying the Labour Party? Not because we asked them to come. Valentine Ozigbo joined us, Balami joined us, and even Peter Obi joined us.”
“Peter Obi won’t be in the Labor Party. To get Valentine Ozigbo to our party – Valentine Ozigbo is actually the guardian of Peter Obi – then I know the fact that Peter Obi will join us.”
He also refuted the importance of former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s defection from the APC to the Social Democratic Party (SDP), calling it a media strategy rather than a political shift.
“After a week or two of this small theatrical event, the way you see them planning these things is that every week, you hear a shocking news report that “gladiators have joined the SDP” so they will dominate the media space.”
“By the end of two weeks, they can enjoy this brief report, and when they sit down, they will start fighting for whom they serve as president or vice president.
“The reason El-Rufai didn’t go to PDP is because he couldn’t tell things there, but he told the World SDP president was his friend. So they went there because they wanted to decide.”
El-Rufai announced his departure from the APC on Monday, March 10, on grounds that it was “contradictory” to the ruling party.
