The team representing Peter Okoye denied allegations from his brother Paul Okoye, who is causing legal problems for his older brother Jude Okoye.
Paul spoke in the media on Friday, saying that Peter should be responsible for Jude’s situation.
Jude is investigating a fraud case involving the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC). The Federal High Court in Ikoy, Lagos ordered him to be held in prison until a bail hearing in March.
During Friday’s arraignment, Paul accused Peter of being the reason for his brother’s trouble. He said:
“It’s not about supporting him because I know the truth. Unfortunately, the fact is that journalists make it look like a fraudulent way. Let’s call it Spades, Peter is simple Jude. It’s Peter doing it, putting him in jail, and I’m here to take him out.”
To cope with this claim, Peter said through his manager Emem Kush that Peter was not involved in Jude’s legal issues. Emem Kush says:
“I don’t know who Peter is on this issue. And I don’t think he has any comments on this issue.
“Based on their investigation, the case is between Jude Okoye. I can’t see how Peter Okoye has anything to do with it.
“We have no comments on this. Peter did not drag anyone to the EFCC. The petition was for the company that received funds on his behalf. He knew nothing about it. Don’t confuse the problem, don’t create problems where there is no problem.”
Emme added that after being asked if she had any conditions under any conditions, Emme added:
The EFCC is the one who receives all of this, so I think it’s better to talk to them to understand the facts of the case and its findings.
“I don’t represent the EFCC. I’m not a spokesperson for the EFCC. I’m not a spokesperson for any party, so I can’t tell you.”
The Okoye Brothers fell in 2015 when issues between the P-Square Duo were noticed. In 2017, they started their own personal careers, but reunited in 2022, wrote songs like Jaiye and found someone. They also performed together that year.
But in August 2024, their relationship got worse when Paul announced his breakup on City FM radio.
In the interview, Paul said Peter had filed a complaint with him and Jude, causing them to be summoned by the agency for their interrogation.
Peter rejected the allegation, but explained that his complaint was intended to highlight his betrayal of Jude and his wife Ifeoma.
