    • Piers Morgan has sparked a viral discussion by posting an urgent message in Igbo to American rapper Nicki Minaj about the recent killings of Christians in Nigeria.
    • His post, an attempt to secure an interview with Minaj about the violence, sparked widespread surprise and amusement among Nigerian social media users.

British media personality Piers Morgan sparked widespread online discussion when he unexpectedly tweeted in Igbo in response to American rapper Nicki Minaj’s comments about recent killings of Christians in Nigeria.

Morgan’s post, which quickly went viral, was a direct reference to Minaj’s earlier tweet and appeared to be an urgent request for an interview on this serious issue.

    Morgan wrote on Twitter:

“I’m important! Can we be interviewed?”

(Translation: “This is very important to me! Can we have an interview?”)

His tweet followed comments from Nicki Minaj, who mentioned Morgan while discussing rising violence against Christians and U.S. involvement:

“That’s it, Pierce gets clearance to fly into Babz’s airspace. Power of Nigeria. 🇳🇬 Naija Babz, keep an eye out for him…”

In other news… Nigerian music producer and industry executive Don Jazzy has spoken out about a past police incident in the UK and clarified details that have recently resurfaced.

The story came to light after his former collaborator Bankuli shared a story at an event claiming Don Jazzy was on the run from the law after a car accident in the UK early in his career. Don Jazzy allegedly removed the license plate from the car and left the scene after police arrived, according to Bankuli.

Bankuli was reported to have said: “I chose not to include this in the Afrobeat documentary. Don Jazzy fell asleep at the wheel and had an accident while trying to film in London. He abandoned the car and removed the number plate because it would cost more to tow it than to repair it. Look at how many cars he owns now.”

The story sparked concern on social media, with one user on X expressing concern that a decades-old case could be reopened if Don Jazzy visited the UK. “Bankuli said that, I hope Don Jazzy has no plans to go to London. They might reopen a case from 20 years ago!” the user wrote.

However, Don Jazzy set the record straight, assuring fans that he was not running from the police. He explained that he was waiting for authorities, who conducted a breathalyser test on him and confirmed that he was not drunk. His car was later impounded and he kept it because the cost of retrieving it exceeded its value.

He clarified: “Haha, no need to panic. It’s been so long, so this story isn’t entirely accurate. I was actually waiting for the police. They gave me a breathalyser; I wasn’t drunk. But the car was impounded. The fine to get it back was higher than a cheap car, so I left it with them, haha.”
