
Adamawa State Police Department has arrested a 34-year-old church member Kidnapping Among the two Catholic priests, the pastor Abraham Samman and the pastor Yola and Matthew David Dusami of Jalingo, respectively.
The commander’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, revealed this in a statement Saturday, March 8, 2025, saying the suspect Tahamado Jonathan Demian was arrested after being arrested in a criminal hiding place in Gwaida Malam Village.
According to PPRO, the pastor’s father was rescued and is currently receiving medical care.
“To ensure the safe and safe environment of the state, the order conducted a coordinated rescue operation at a specific crime hiding place located in the village of Gwaida Malam, which connects Numan and part of Demsa LGAS,” the statement said.
“These rescue operations, commenced from 21st February, 2025, in various criminal hideouts within the state and it yielded positive results as one Tahamado Jonathan Demian, 34 years old a member of the same church, with the victims was arrested for kidnapping of his two Reverend fathers (Abraham Samman and Matthew David Dusami) of Catholic Dioceses Yola and Jalingo respectively.
The command planned operations successfully rescued two pastors, without any injuries and no dime as ransom. The victim is now receiving medical care.
“The suspect was arrested and now detained for a cautious investigation.
“So far, the investigation has led to recovery: (1) a locally made assault rifle. (2) a cell phone and SIM card.
“Police CP Director Dankombo Morris of PSC (+) expressed his gratitude to the headquarters for the support it is receiving from the government, sister security agencies and the public.
“So he encouraged them to maintain cooperation and cooperation and respond to emergencies in a timely manner.
“The police boss added that we will ensure peace and security throughout the state and beyond by diligently prosecuting suspects.”
