Anambra State Police Command has arrested nine suspects involved in the kidnapping and committed the horrible M8rder among members of a constituency in the northern constituency of Justice Arnampra State Capitol.
Azuka was kidnapped at the muzzle on December 24, 2024, along Ugwunaobankpa Road in the inland town of Onitsha, returning to Christmas.
On February 6, 2025, his lifeless body was found by security agents near the Second Niger Bridge.
State Police Commissioner CP Nnaghe Obono Itam marched the suspects at the police headquarters AWKA on Friday, February 7.
Briefing News Reporter CP Itam noted that Peter Sunday, the gang’s most notorious member, had a large tattoo on his chest with the inscription “No 4D Government”.
“Many of you know that Justice Azuka’s terrible M8rder, honorary state parliament member, Anambra State Capitol Building, representing Onitsha North North Constituency 1, was kidnapped in Onitsha on December 24, 2024,”
“This serious incident prompted the order to redouble its efforts in intelligence gathering and careful investigations.
“In the early hours of February 6, 2025, on the Second Niger Bridge, a joint security team composed of police and AVG agents aimed at rescue of the kidnapped honorary state legislator, representing Onitsha North, Hon Azuka, who was the one who was not yet in the past. The lifeless corpse is a pity that his soul was found on the scene.
“On the same day, the agent was ordered to conduct a joint operation with the alert agents of Anambra State, which was directed to the information of the intelligent leader, arresting nine suspects of the unfortunate incident during a gun showdown with police agents, his Leg injury.
“The suspects arrested include: 30-year-old Ugochukwu Onuorah Ikememefuna Ossai, 20, Ikenna Orugu 27, Chiba obiefuna 19, Chinonso Olisa, 19, the most notoriously, a Peter Sunday (Peter Aunta y ) Peter Auntay, 20, has a big tattoo with *no peace 4d government* engraved on it.
The command agent also successfully arrested a Chidiebere Nwosu, a suspect in kidnapping of Uruagu, Nnewi, and neutralized some of his gang members who participated in October 3, 2024. After the successful arrest of Japan, it was involved in the attack of police officers who responded quickly to the team.
“We also neutralized over a hundred (100) of notorious criminals and successfully destroyed many crime camps in Ufuma, Eziowelle, Achalla, Ogbaru and many other parts of the state.
