    Police arrest suspected car thief, refuse to dismiss N1M bribe in Katsna

    Agents from Katsina State Police Commander arrested two suspected car thieves and refused N1M bribes offered to escape justice.

    The headquarters spokesman DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu disclosed this in a statement Wednesday, April 16, 2025, saying suspects Mubarak Kabir and Adamu Hashim were arrested in a regular patrol in the village of Mashi kuka Village in the state.

    “The Casina State Police Commander successfully arrested two (2) suspected driving thieves, refused a bribe of one million naira (N1,000,000) and took back the alleged stolen motor vehicle,” the statement said.

    April 11, 2025, about 1500 hours, while Kurna Quarters, Fagge LGA, Kano State during daily patrols along Birnin Kuka Village.

    “In the preliminary investigation, it was reported that the vehicle was stolen from FCT Abuja. The suspect then offered a bribe of one million naira (N1,000,000) to the patrol to escape justice, and officials refused.

    “In addition, the alleged stolen motor vehicles, total cash amounts of N1,000,000, three (3) mobile phones, a power bank and a bunch of keys were recycled from the suspects as exhibits.

    “Katsina National Command Police Commissioner CP Bello Shehu, PSC, FDC, praised the official for his commitment to upholding the law and showing a high degree of integrity.
