The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command arrested a woman in an alleged attempt to sell a 3-year-old boy she claimed was 1.5 million.
Police sources told security analyst Zagazola Makama that the suspect in Hana Yusuf, who was identified as the village of Kpaduma II, went to a resident Isaac Tom on March 18, 2025 to ask for his help in search of a child buyer.
Tom was disturbed by request and reported the matter to the Asokoro Police Department.
Police operators acted quickly and set up the stinging action, with ASP promising Gandhi impersonating potential buyers.
The suspect was tempted to get arrested at the meeting point and was rescued safely.
Preliminary investigation confirmed that the child Yusuf Ibrahim is the son of Mariam Ibrahim, a couple of Kpaduma II in Guzape.
Police have since reunited the boy with their parents, and further investigations continue.
The suspect is still in custody and is being tried.
Authorities said they will be prosecuted after the investigation is completed.
