
The Kano State Police Command has arrested 10 suspects for kidnapping and armed robbery in the state.
Order the spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa revealed this in a statement Thursday, March 20, 2025, saying that the operators recovered weapons and ammunition from the suspect.
Haruna said police agents arrested five suspects in connection with Mohammed’s kidnapping and recovered N4,850,000 in cash from them.
“In compliance with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM to all Police Commands and Formations to develop an action plan aimed at minimizing crimes, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, fipma, mnim, mnips, masis upon assumption of duty on 17th March 2025, readjust the intelligence and operational capabilities of the command and strengthen security measures to deal with identified emerging threats.”
“This strategic move has achieved significant results, resulting in the arrest of ten (10) infamous suspects of kidnapping, armed robbery and cash, weapons and ammunition details;
On March 18, 2025, at about 11 p.m., a call in distress was received from a Good Samaritan, and some suspected armed robbers rushed into the residence of Kano’s Badawa layout, causing harm to the crew Suleiman Umar, 24, both from Jos Platau State University.
Similarly, at 11 a.m. on March 18, 2025, the order received credible information that some suspects were being driven in a motor vehicle held by a rifle. After receiving the report, a team of detectives was dispatched and a team of detectives was arrested, and a team of Shuaibu Yakubu, a Shuaibu Yakubu, ‘M’M’, 25, was arrested.
“After the search, the AK-47 rifle with twelve (12) rounds of live ammunition and the atmosphere of the car Pontiac was restored, and the suspect admitted to being involved in a series of armed robberies by Kano and Abuja.

“The victim was rescued on January 17, 2025. Danish guns were used during the operation and 485,000 Naira (N4,850,000:00) were recovered from the suspect.
“All suspects are currently under the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Command and will be prosecuted in court after the investigation is completed.
