
A man at Ogun State Police Command arrested eight students for allegedly participating in a cult at a school site in the IFO area of the state.
CSP Omolola Odutola confirmed the arrest, a spokesman for the headquarters said the arrest came after the school’s title alerted a group of emerging student worship.
She said
“On March 21, 2025, about 1205 hours, Mr. Alako Oluwole, vice principal of IFO High School, reported with teacher Mr. Akinseku Oloruntoba Julius that a group of students participated in activities related to cults, permanent commotion and removal of valuables from classmates.”
According to Ododola’s arrests, the following have been identified as: Omolaso Waris (16 years old); Bennett Bolakatife (15 years old); Aluko Taiwan (15 years old); Agaola Ifeoluwa (16 years old); Azeez Hassan (16 years old); Kilani Babatutut (aka Soldier) (16 years old); Kehinde Aluko (15 years old) and our Fasede Samuel (16 years old).
According to the police imaging maker, preliminary investigations show that the students are members of the Future People (FTG) cult group, allegedly initiated by two senior students, Ebenezer Ope (the group’s president) and Ebenezer Tobi, both SSS 1.
“Police have begun a thorough investigation to determine the extent of cult activities in schools and prevent further occurrences. After the preliminary investigation is over, students will be transferred to the state criminal investigation department.
Police Commissioner Dr. Lanre Ogunlowo directed that students will be brought to him on the next working day for further interviews in which other recommendations will be consulted and guided.
The CP further reiterated his commitment to maintaining law and order in Ogun State and urged parents, teachers and community leaders to collaborate in eliminating worship in schools. ”
