Police in Ekiti State have arrested and detained an official who allegedly stabbed a man at his home in the Ise-Ekiti region of Ekiti State.
The victim’s daughter shared several videos online and spoke out loud for her father.
According to the young lady, the official was personally ordered and ordered by the local chairman. She said the trouble began when her brother quarreled with a female classmate who happened to be the officer’s girlfriend.
She said classmates reported the incident to her boyfriend, who allegedly attacked the so-called house with two policemen, claiming to be arresting.
“My little brother had a dispute with his classmates. She called her boyfriend in anger so that he could come and fight my little brother at home. But when they got home, they didn’t meet my little brother. They only met his brother.”
She claimed that when the officer tried to arrest her brother, the situation escalated as the young man questioned their motives and asked why he was taken to the station, one of the officers allegedly responded to a physical assault.
“They started to question my brother. He started calling on my father to come out. Then, the next person was everywhere, removed the knife and stabbed my father in the stomach. Fortunately, my father was able to guide the knife with his hand, but the knife ripped his hand,” she said. ”
In a video recorded by the hospital, the woman was lying on the bed to her father, injured and in pain. She claimed that the officers responsible for stabbing the man were not only well known in the community, but were also known for their violence.
“Everyone is complaining about this guy, he’s still working. He’s still in service. What happened? Because he’s the chairman in order, they left him there and said there’s a process.”
She was angry that despite the severity of the attack, she was not detained by police agreements as a reason.
“They absolutely didn’t do anything because they said he was a policeman. They not only arrested such a policeman. But if a normal person like me did this, then I’m going to jail until now.”
She called on relevant authorities, including President Bora Tinub and the state police department, to intervene and ensure justice.
“Please, Mr. President. Please, Police Commissioner. At this point, we need your help. They should do something about it because it can’t continue to happen. Nigeria makes us really fail,” she lamented.
State Police Department spokesman SP Abutu responded to the incident, saying the defendant has been arrested and is currently in custody.
The Ekiti State Police Department has noticed a video circulating on social media where a young girl (unknown name) complained that his father was stabbed in the palm of his hand by a police officer in Ise-Ekiti due to a dispute between her brother and police girlfriend.
