
Agents from the Lagos State Police Command arrested a couple for allegedly kidnapped online vendors, identified as Emmanuel and Mmesoma Okafor.
The command spokesman, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed this at a press conference on Monday, March 10, 2025, saying the couple kidnapped the victims in the Iyana Ishashi area of the state.
According to him, the incident was reported on Sunday, March 9, the victim told the identity of the couple!
Hundeyin added that the couple demanded a ransom of 2 million guilds, threatening to do so if she does not comply with the image.
“The victim received a request for the product and went to the client’s home of Iyana Ishashi. Upon arrival, the door opened and she was forcibly dragged inside by a man and a woman. PPRO added.
“The suspects were later identified as Emmanuel and Mmesoma Okafor. After dragging her to the house, they stripped her naked body, beat her up, took her naked photos, demanding her to pay Naira 2 million or leaked photos.”
A police spokesman further revealed that the victim managed to pay N300,000 on the scene before being allowed to regain freedom, and the couple threatened to release the photos if she failed to pay the balance.
Handin said the victim reported the incident to police, resulting in an immediate investigation.
“The suspects were tracked and arrested. They are currently in police custody as the investigation continues,” he added.
