Ondo State Police Command has arrested a man known as Falade for allegedly imitating retired U.S. military officers.
State Police Commissioner CP Wilfred Afolabi revealed this when addressing reporters in Akure on Monday, March 24, 2025, saying Falade and its followers have recently caused unrest in the Idogun community, the state’s OSE local government area is the local government area of the state.
He confirmed Falade had been prosecuted in court and was remanded in custody at a reclamation center in Akur after being arrested.
“Reported to this office a Falad activity, who claimed to be a retired naval captain serving in the U.S. military. Falade has been the horror of the Idogon community for years, under the Osay Local Government. When I noticed this, I called him and I was going to invite him to my office to give me my own story, explaining his own story.”
“The response I received was words that could not be printed. Even at the height of the provocation, I remained calm. Even when the incident was handed over to one of our tactical commanders, he called him stupid when he invited him over. Nevertheless, I called for a peace meeting in the midst of police chaos, where he attended the chairman of his ose lg and other shares. All of them were asked to go back and keep the peace. Unfortunately, when he returned, he did not lower the tension, but escalated. ”
The police chief also claimed that Farrard operated with individuals who pretended to be Air Force personnel and used a fake passport.
“Now, this problematic Farrard is in progress with fake passports and fake airmen who are joining him for evil activities. Just last week, it was reported that some boys were led by the same Falade, kidnapped some people, kidnapped some people who went to the farm, took their real estate to their property and had encountered it, and I said enough state, I had endured Afolabi stat.
He explained that he faced 10 charges in court after Falade was arrested.
“So the SWAT team moved in, arrested Farrard, brought him to Akur, started the investigation, and during the investigation he was found guilty of criminal responsibility, and there were 10 charges against him, and he was prosecuted.”
Afolabi noted that his supporters in the Idogun Community responded violently after Falade’s remand
When the matter was appealed, he was sent back to a corrections center, and when people in the community heard this, they were riots, and by the bonfire, cutting down a large tree so we had to move in and more people to that place. Now, one of our officers caused urination on his head while we were trying to restore peace, but was scratched on his head.
Police bosses urged state residents to use legal means to deal with community challenges rather than resorting to violence or illegal acts.
