
A police inspector Ajele Oloyede has reportedly stood out from a self-caused gunfire in Igbesa, Ogun State.
Punch reported on Sunday that the incident occurred at a ceramics company, which was stationed as part of security details.
Omolola Odutola, the command spokesman for confirming the incident, said an official from the Force Headquarters, Lagos, Lagos, discovered the incident when he returned from Ikeja at around 1:20 pm on Thursday, March 13.
According to PPRO, Stephen reportedly found Oloyd put his head on a table in a safe office.
When asked about his well-being, the inspector assured Stephen he was fine.
Stephen then put his bag and pistol on the table and walked into the bathroom.
A moment later, the gunshots were heard.
Odutola said Stephen found Oloyede lying in the pool of blood.
“With the help of private security personnel, the injured officer was immediately taken to OTA General Hospital, and he was later announced by the doctor on duty to announce D3AD.”
“The police visited the scene and the deceased’s pistol was found. His body had been stored in OTA General Hospital for an autopsy, and we began notifying his family.”
Odutola added that the case will be transferred to Eleweran’s state criminal investigation department for further investigation.
